On 31st March 2006, Dato’ Seri Abdullah Bin Hj Ahmad Badawi launched the 9th Malaysian Plan for the period 2006 to 2010. Since then till today, the nation has only heard of announcements after announcements by the PM and there is no actual implementation of the plan.
At the mid-term review of the 9MP on 26th June 2008, Badawi said in Parliament that our economy had a growth of 6.1% but he didn’t tell the nation that Malaysia’s inflationary rate was well above 6.1%, which meant there was ZERO growth. Badawi also said that the Government will “spend another RM30 billion on its five-year development plan … to cover the costs of inflation, rural projects and increased food production.” Badawi also didn’t tell Parliament how the Government is going to raise the RM30 billion.
This extra expense to the original RM200 billion allocation is not a small sum and the rakyat has to finally bear the cost somehow – through higher charges and taxes.
Granted that the cost of implementing existing projects has risen as a result of the rising prices of materials and what-not, we hope the administration has in place firm ‘checks and balances’ where leakages can be prevented.
We still remember the Auditor-General Report where tools and equipment, among a long list of other items, were sinfully over-priced. It will be a great waste of public funds if the projects are not implemented properly and responsibly during such hard times faced by the rakyat.
So the question of the week is:
To ensure that the 9MP is executed effectively and efficiently without rampant corruptions to protect the rakyat’s money, which was raised through the recent petrol price hike, should the government have in place strict measures to ensure good governance, transparency and accountability at all times?

What implementation for the 9th Malaysia Plan? What PLAN? NO PLAN OK! The only 9th Malaysian Plan was to look after SIL and cronies only!
Just to think of a PLAN for Bodawi is to give too much credibility to the 4th Floor and him! For them there is no PLAN.
No Plan! If there was a 9th Malaysian Plan in place, Malaysia would not have been in such a state!!!!!
The answer is YES! YES! YES! to transparency & good governance. We need these slimy guys to be held fully accountable for all the side-deals & crony contract awards that they are planning for!
What good governance, transparency and etc for this government? Such words are not within the vocabulary of the PM and his cronies.
There was no implementation of the 9th Malaysian Plan. Just rhetorics only. This is what this BN government is all about.
Now Najib is seen to be talking. Najib didn’t rule out contesting for the post for the UMNO president. Najib said that during the press conference with Sleepy Head. WOW! WE ARE DEFINITELY LIVING IN INTERESTING TIME.
Badawi Administration is known for long on rhetoric & sloganeering and short on substance & action. LEgacy of Mahathirism that forbid other people from thinking and initiative.
Badawi and his cabinet have no clue as to how to administer the country.
The 9 Malaysia Plan is another ‘scam’ to hijack the people’s money into their own pockets. Look at everything around us, they are all unnecessary and the rakyat is paying for this sorry state for continuously voting these idiots into office.
Especially this. Every patch of green and empty land is stupidly turned into ‘development’ with no proper planning. Sure lah, no project, how to ‘curi duit’ from the rakyat, kan?
RM230 billion for 5 years is a lot of money! F##k these bastards. One day all of them will have to answer to God especially the sleepy imam. But before that they will all suffer all kinds of mishaps and health problems before they are buried (like Zakaria Deros, Nasimuddin, Eric Chia, etc.)
Down with the Barang Naik party! Vote in Pakatan Rakyat!
The answer to your question, YB Wee, is a big YES! YES! YES!
