It seems that someone is very obsessed in having their own airport. Just wonder why?
The recent outburst by AirAsia citing “safety” issues as it main reason for not moving to KLIA2.
According to sources yesterday, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Dato’ Sri Najib Tun Razak had said that he is NOT in favour of a new LCCT in Labu, Negeri Sembilan dubbed KLIA@East.
The “Rakyat’s Terminal” which Tony Fernandes apparently – in his fits of creativity and savvy marketing – had created, branded and tried pandering the term to the people in reference to KLIA East @ Labu had today received one of the loudest and most resounding “NO”s against the project.
In the name of “privately funded initiative” and possibly privatizing the civil service!
Building an airport like KLIA East @ Labu, which has been given a swift “midnight approval” by the Abdullah Badawi administration to proceed, is not a development project for the timid and weak of heart.
Datuk Seri Tony Fernandes told Malay Mail (13 January 2009) that no tax payers’ money will be used to finance the KLIA-East project.
No to KLIA@East – We already have KLIA!
It is perhaps a coincidence that recently Sime Darby was inadvertently forced into and be involved – by chance – in two major projects of national interests which would see the rakyat rise up to voice their displeasure.
