On Saturday, 19 October 2008, Platinum Victory was slapped with a Stop Work Order by DBKL for continuously violating the construction work time as stipulated in the Development Order. (Details here.)

Four days later on Thursday, 23 October 2008, En Mohd Yusof Bin Alwi, Pengarah of Jabatan Bangunan of DBKL, single-handedly lifted the Stop Work Order under questionable circumstances and without the prior knowledge of other high ranking officers including Datuk Salleh Yusuf (Ketua Pengarah of DBKL) and Datuk Bandar.

Why issue Platinum Victory warning and at the same time give the company immunity from actions?

In September 2008 DBKL had given warning to Platinum Victory Sdn Bhd that the permitted working hours are from 8 am to 6 pm from Monday to Saturday and if Platinum Victory Sdn Bhd contravened the said condition then DBKL will issue a “Stop Work Order” for the project. It is a fact that for the past one week Platinum Victory Sdn Bhd had been working until very late at night (sometimes well past midnight) and yesterday (Sunday) the company was carrying out construction work the whole day. These are clear violations of the DBKL conditions on permitted working hours.

Platinum Victory violates Development Order by carrying out construction works till late at night and angers residents nearby

Since June 2008, one of the residents of Platinum Hill Condo had been complaining to DBKL regarding a developer, Platinum Victory Sdn Bhd, for carrying out construction works till about 9.00 pm to 11.00 pm every night – including Sundays. As a result of which the resident had to officially write to Jabatan Bangunan of DBKL for action.

Sometime in April 2008, the Persatuan Penduduk Medan Damansara Kuala Lumpur protested against Jabatan Perancang, DBKL, for granting a Developer Order for a hill slope development involving 21 units of four storey bungalows and swimming pool (just behind Victoria Station) in Medan Damansara. As a result of the protest by the Residents Association, DBKL issued a Stop Work Order to the developer.
