Petition signed by over 500 residents handed over to Datuk Bandar KL

Several residents of Danau Kota, Wangsa Maju, and I went to Bangunan DBKL this morning to handover a petition to Datuk Bandar concerning the residents’ unhappiness over the social problems, crime rate, cleanliness, traffic congestion and noise caused by the Uptown Danau Kota Pasar Malam, which operates daily from 10 pm to 4 am. There are over 500 signatures in the said Petition. The said Petition was handed over to the Datuk Bandar’s Special Assistant, Tuan Hj Shaari bin Abdul Junid.

At long last, works to open up the junction from Jalan Gombak into Jalan Meranti towards the direction of Lee Rubber School are now completed and the junction is opened to traffic starting today.

This speedy delivery had been a promise to me yesterday by a DBKL officer and being fulfilled today. Syabas! And thank you Datuk Bandar KL and his staff at Jabatan Kerja Awam!

Let’s see what the ‘developers friendly’ Mohd Yusop Alwi of Jabatan Bangunan will do to help.

It’s amazing how Platinum Victory Sdn Bhd continues to blatantly defy DBKL’s building regulations and guidelines even though the company had been issued a Stop Work Order before . Something is definitely amiss and it begs for a clear explanation as to why this developer is so bold and has the audacity to do what it does!

En Mohd Yusof Alwi initially denied that he was wrong in not calling the complainant and I to the meeting on 22 October 2008 before he lifted the Stop Work Order. He also denied that he is a little napoleon. After he was cornered in the meeting, he finally admitted he is “not a little napoleon but an old napoleon.” He also admitted that he was wrong in not calling the complainant and I to the said meeting.
