If it is true that Rashdan was maligned and villified in blogsphere, how come he or MAS did not for one SINGLE time issue a rebuttal or clarification statement? Surely with all his money and with the MAS machinery (including STRATEGIC Comms) behind him, Rashdan could have easily rebutted all the statements that allegedly “maligned and villified” him? Or could it be that he or AJ could not
resort to rebuttals because the statements in blogsphere were all true? Any fool can tell you that in cyberspace, if you do not respond or react in 24 hours to anything written, you would have lost the opportunity to do so,and whatever is written , in all probability, will be taken as truth.So much for all the CON-sultants around, ini basic punya hal pun tak tahu nak handle ke? Instead, both these idiots choose to resort to witch-hunting and veiled threats and waste God-knows-how-much of MAS money trying to hunt down staff who leaked information. Hey,
if things are done transparently with MAS best interests in mind, staff will not need to resort to the blogs. But as most staff who have attended any of the Townhalls or “engagement” sessions will confirm, all you get is BS when qerstions are asked. Why bother holding an “engagement” session in the first place, when there is absolutely nothing engaging or productive about it?
Now, once again, either AJ or STRATEGIC Comms idiocy is once again proven with these two emails issued within two hours. My goodness, this simple communication also cannot get it right first time? And, BRAVO, does AJ think that these two emails will make things better or rebuild staff’s trust in him? Of course NOT! If anything, it will alienate staff further. Can’t he and the Comms people do anything right for once?
the two emails make it obvious that they never think things over properly in everything they do – if even stuff like messages to staff also can be “reworded” so easily. what integrity are they talking about? what credibility?

Hopefully with sufficient insight into this airline business vis-a-vis Malaysia’s geography & aviation needs with unquestionable integrity & foresight. Can anyone pls confirmed that the evening slot flight into Hong Kong by Mas was swap with AA midnight flight. It happened during the share SUAP. As a tour agent, its not feasible to use midnight flight because hotel usage will be wasted and it will cost Mas to lose their passengers. Thanks YB
It will be very interesting from now onwards. Newspaper reports said that Rozman will be leaving MAS and rejoining AirAsia and Bernard Francis will also be rejoining Airasia. All this will be announced next Monday when TF reveals his management team from Asean and regional set ups.Those who left MAS with bitter feelings will definitely want sweet revenge. So MAS have to buckle up to show the world that they can turnaround without these so called brilliant people.
It’s also interesting to note that whilst PM Najib had used his magical wand to instruct the unwinding of the share suap, he also said in the papers today that the CCF failed because there was no cooperation from the employees/unions. Oucchhh….that hurts PM. Now now, don’t you put the blame on the employees pulak.
But my dear MAS management, please revisit your fares. They are high compared with other carriers. And your planes are not as new as your competitors. How many fly on the front end? Even most companies now have a policy for staff to travel economy class for flight less than 6 hours. I believe MAS senior management also practise the same. Even compared with other full service carriers, you fare is still high. Just like Tan Sri Aziz said in a newspaper report, the travel pattern has changed from the past 10-20 years ago. FSC must compete with LCC.
My analogy is simple: How many actually do their grocery shopping at Mercato@Pavillion or Cold Storage? And how many flock the likes of Giant, Tesco, Carrefour? Even the rich go to these hypermarts because they get what they want. They may not be able to find a RM25 pack of cheese but they get a RM14 pack of cheese that tastes about the same. So, revisit Firefly’s operation. It used to give a good competition to Airasia. And MAS, please do improve on your customer service on the ground and in flight. Tolonglah jangan pilih bulu. Bila mat salleh je baru nak layan lebih2. The last I checked, a smile still doesn’t cost a thing even to fellow Malaysians.
Yea MAS ground crew are generally less polite in most of my encounters while one of the flight crew begging passenger to buy items from “temptations” magazine to meet up his own sales quota.
Please learn from Korea Airlines crew especially the ground crew, they are so polite and professional when dealing with customers.

Agree. MAS fare is damn expensive. What really upset me is that MAS claimed they have new aircraft ie A380 for the London sector and because of that customer must be wiling to pay more. Well, i’ve got news to you AJ. Pay more my ASS!!! I rather use SQ or Emirates which has lower fare, better inflight entertainment, better food, better aircraft and more baggage allowance.
To AJ and other MAS management, if you want to retain your customer, please be competitive. We do not expect a cheap fare but at least must be competitive with other premium airlines. Jangan syok sendiri !!!

You are he same? You have not denied that you have gave up MAS Sydney route to AA X? You signed the RA with the lowest of the low fares never before in MAS history. You never denied that also.
MAS sent out e-mail at midnight on 18-3-2012 to say that you have signed the RA when the RA was dated 28-3-2012. Don’t tell us that you and the Pariah signed the RA just past midnight!
Soon you will say that you have been also vilified and maligned. Just pack you things and get lost. You bring shame to MAS with your two e-mails within 2 hours.
AJ should have been advised that retraction of an email that lengthy is a no-no, whether it’s within two hours or two days. The impression created is that AJ did not have a free hand in the messaging. Staff reading both will make comparisons. It seems like the Board chairman was not happy with the first email because the board’s endorsement of Danny and his “sterling” character and performance did not come across strong enough. Notice how that part was padded up in the second email ? AJ should have had the strength of conviction to stand by his first email. The Board sentiments can be expressed in another email which can be sent closer to the date of Danny’s actual departure. Poor AJ is not getting the right ‘strategic’ advice in messaging.
Bettina, you are absolutely right, because that was exactly the impression I got, that AJ was just parroting. In any case, this is so classic AJ – saying so many much but in the end saying nothing at all. He is the same in engagement sessions, giving wishy washy responses that gives staff the impression he does not know his stuff at all or worse, that he is LYING.How can he ever hope for staff to take him seriously? Which brings me to the next question – as to HOW THE HECK DID THESE PEOPLE get their post in the first place… Did they apply for the job? Were they qualified enough?
Seriously speaking ~ if you look at any other post (in MAS) ~ from the cleaners to the cabin crew and even the pilots – they all had to apply for the job and had to sit for the interviews to be employed. Qualified ? Yes… and they get the job… here instead we have directors that have no HEAD OR TAIL (clueless!) knowledge of aviation and travel industry experiences , and they get parachuted into a position with perks.
