  1. what in the world is this Menteri Wilayah Persekutuan brain comes from?? what is it mean by penduduk tidak diganggu oleh pasarmalam yang terlampau ini??

does this menteri been to danau kota on the weekend or not?? hey , he don even have the right to make a comment , if he like it so much , then make it even better , move to proper place and make it permanant , such as : DBKL, PARLIMENT , BANGSA & SRI DAMANSARA where rezeki is even greater .

protect the penjaja or his pocket ?? ask him to make the statement clear .

hi YB , the PASAR MALAM IS A MUST MOVE bottom line , not even one step back . PLEASE HELP US .

  2. Even those who dont stay near to Danau Kota is saying its such a menace and troublesome to go to Danau Kota.

If penjaja can move from Damansara Utama –> Wangsa Maju –> Danau Kota, i’m sure they wont mind moving to front of DBKL or Menteri WP housing area. When he gets stuck in the daily jam, pollution, noise, and crime, then he will come to know how it feels.

LU FIKIRLAH SENDIRI

  4. I dun disagree penjaja to have a place to make business, to earn money.
But should we allowed chaotic, not structured, over populated pasar malam?
Where is the authorities (DBKL) to govern the penjaja every night?
And what is the logic of having pasar malam till 4am in the morning? Does this mean government will like to promote people to stay up late? Youngster as well? Will this increase the crime at night? Robbing or be robed??
What is the logic of having double parking on a 2 lane road at every road near the pasar malam?

And what offended me the BEST. What do the menteri meant by “mempertahankan kepentingan penjaja-penjaja” whereas the penjaja is THE INVADER to the housing areas where WE the RESIDENT OWNed THE PLACE….coz we pay to buy our house, our money.
Shouldn’t WE the RESIDENT be put in the top priority than INVADERS???

KL is such a big place and DBKL claim they cannot find a land suitable for the pasar malam. That is not my problem but DBKL’s!!! That’s the reasons why we appointed them to be DBKL the first place!!!

MAybe we should write to PM……..

  5. hi YB:

    For your information ,

    1. Robbery case, on 12 november 2009 midnite , 1am , i went drive thru petronas mc D mrr2, taman melati at infront of PV10 , the one located infront of balai bomba , i was que-ing behind one vios , waiting for my turn to order thru the windows , suddently the order-boy jump out from the windows, and the front car spinning the wheels , so , without second though, i speed out from the mc D , while passing by the front door , i saw one helmet-ed guy grabing money from the cashier., the next day, i heard the mc D guys said, the robbery actually ARM with a GUN.

    2. DENGUE case, for the pass whole week , i was in hospital accompany my daughter, and it is dengue possitive , this morning 13 november2009 , some DBKL guys come in to my house and check for mosquito breeding container , and my house are CLEAN, he does show me the list of the case , in danau kota , this week it self , already 3 case , IMAGINE within 60 housing area , 3 case of dengue , exclusive lots more cases in ibu kota and gombak area, WHY is this happening ?? we DO keep our house CLEAN, BUT the pasar malam keep trushing and polluting our environment .

YB , you understand our problem , and you do follow up with our case , but the authority keep dragging without solving the problem . please push them for ACTION , where NON-SENSE is not acceptable . tq

  6. Yang Bodoh,
do your homework. Hawkers at uptown Damansara Utama were moved to Kota Damansara. What on earth makes u think they were the same people? Then what about the ones in cheras? How can one be in three places at one time? We love uptowns.. can get variaties of cheap stuff. It also spurs Danau Kota that used to be dead at nights… Maybe YBs like u can afford shopping at KLCC, Pavilion etc, but whatabout the ordinary people? We need stalls. We want stalls. Do u have a practical solutions? why dont u give the hawkers a land which is NEAR enough to the current place (within 3km radius) and i am sure they will be very happy to move there. We are happy too coz we can still get cheap stuff easily.. And to those who “signed” the petition let me ask you one simple question… “how many of you, your immediate family member or neighbour that have never been to the uptown and bought anything at all?”

YB- STOP trying to be popular!!!

  7. Relocate the pasar lewat malam from Danau Kota to two new locations:

    – in front of the toll collector Shafie Abdullah; and
    – in front of Raja Nong Chik’s house in Taman Tun.

this will do justice to the slogan “rakyat didahulukan”.

Or otherwise, get both these rascals to stay in Danau Kota in front of the pasar lewat malam area.

  8. KL Jati

tell me where u live, i’ll put to suggestion of moving the pasar malam to your place, so that you can breath, walk , eat and sleep together with the pasar malam you like.

wash your face and wake up , no one is saying STOP the pasarmalam, we the resident say MOVE it to PROPER place , you understand???

to hardcore pasar malam ppl like you , you only THINK of your own convenient , hey , please lah , read thru all previous comment thats from resident of danau kota, ibu kota . i mean THINK ..if only you have a brain .

one more suggestion to YOU , put your contact here , i’m willing to let go my house for you love .

  9. KL Jati

I do agree with jack that please let us know where you live then we can ask YB to suggest to DBKL to move the pasar malam if possible next to your house so that you do not have to walk too far.

I cannot believe that we have such stupid and selfish people around.

We hope that you will post your address here so that we will campaign for the pasar malam to be relocated to right in front of your house sot that you can enjoy it 24 hours.

    What an idiot!

  10. Datuk Shafie Abdullah, the famous Political Toll around. He should be working in the Ministry of Finance and why is he putting his finger in DBKL. May he he is also starting to operate Tolls in DBKl too.

MACC should look into the activities of this Political Toll. he is too famous in the PM department also.

YB we hope you will carrying on bringing up about this Mr Political Toll in Parliament until the PM takes actions. The government administration must be rid of such characters like Mr Political Toll, Norza and the like.

  11. petaling street, chow kit, india street, pasar malams all sell fake goods and yet umno gov promoted them internationally. what a shame…so bolehland with fake goods

  12. I’ve lived in couple of places in setapak before moving to danau kota. As I remember, pasar malam’s used to be once a week “family” affair for all. The pasar malam starts at 4/5pm and runs up to 10/11pm. This used to be really fun and acceptable. Everyone looks forward to do their weekly grocery/budget shopping routine.

But the danau kota night market is definitely NOT our ordinary pasar malam. Its DAILY and goes up right up to 4am in the morning.

Do you think people go to “shop” EVERY day? Which family doesn’t work, or whose children don’t go to school the next morning?

Go and watch yourself, what happens there. I can see dozens of teenagers lepak-ing at the mamak stalls, smoking away sheesha. Once I even saw some boys, must be hardly 12/13 years old, walking and drinking beer direct from the beer bottle. Teenage boys go there to pick up girls, etc. This area has become the lepak place for all these kids. No need to go KL anymore, where they risk getting caught in police road-blocks, etc. Everything is here, including gambling!!

They tell their parents that they are going to a normal pasar malam, but end up doing all the wrong stuff there.

Whose kids are these ? Not the traders, not the anak menteri WP. Its the children from the neighboring tamans & those of danau kota.

Damansara Utama folks are rich. They dont want their kids to spoil like these kids of Danau Kota and their surrounding areas. These are “middle-class” people. What future do they have? Let them lepak and spoil their lives away. This is the “gift” of the “upper-class” to the residents of Danau Kota. Thank you very much.

  13. Mr political is very influential as far as DBKL is concerned. It is a known fact that DBKl can make any decision but Mr Political Toll can undo it. See how see powerful he is.

Even if it is against the laws and regulations for a hawker to use government land and yet Mr Political Toll can make it legal and there is nothing Datuk bandar KL can do about it.

We might as well do away with Datuk Bandar and appoint Mr Political as special officer under PM Department to run DBKl.

If Najib is not taking any action against this Mr Political Toll then Najib’s future is very bleak!

Datuk Shafie has a hand in every pie in DBKL. DBKL officers cannot function without Datuk Shafie’s giving his green light.

Saya amat berharap PM mengambil tindakan terhadap Datuk Shafie sebelum dia akan hancurkan kedudukan PM.

  16. Raja Nong Chik should look into the activities of Datuk Shafie Abdullah in DBKL. He is very powerful. His foot prints are every where in DBKL. That is the reason why DBKl could not do their works properly because of the constant interference by him.

Najib should check on the Toll collector.

  18. The Prime Minister should immediately instruct his political secretary to stop meddling with DBKL so that DBKL can perform its duty properly in the interest of the people. The Danau Kota Uptown pasar malam must be moved away from residential area.

The residents in the area are suffering. Mr Prime Minister please instruct Datuk Bandar to move the pasar malam away from us as soon as possible. Mr Political Toll should not interfere with DBKL at the expense of the people. Under such situation how can your slogan of “People First” can be realised?

  19. The Danau Kota Uptown pasar malam must be moved away from residential area. It is distrubing our peace. What is the point of us paying rates to DBKL and taxes to the Government when our views and welfare are ignored.

It seems that Datuk Shafie Abdullah’s views are more important. That’s why another 30 additional stores were approved even at the time when 500 residents have signed a petition against it. It seems that UMNO leaders are more important than the people.

If this is the case, then please don’t collect rates and taxes from us.

I just cannot believe that Datuk Shafie Abdullah is super powerful in DBKL.

  20. The PM should call for an investigations into DBKL with regards to contracts/projects awarded since he took office in April.

I am sure that Mr political Toll footprint will be found every where.

  21. YB please check on the number of projects Evergreen Sdn Bhd got when Datuk Shafie was in the Ministry of Defence.

Someone have also wrote about John Tee, who is a very close friend of Shafie. Please check on Evergreen and John Tee and then you will know what have been going on.

  22. Heard that Evergreen Sdn Bhd is very strong with Ministry of Defence when Datuk Shafie was there. Please check further.

  23. I do not understand why DBKL and the Ministry of Wilayah Persekutuan are making life so difficult for the residents in Danau Kota. What they are asking for is not to stop the uptown pasar malam altogether but to move it to a place that is far from residential houses so as not to disturb their well being.

It is as simple as that. If this is the government of “People First” then let the people live in peace with as little noise pollution as possible.

Just move the pasar malam to a non residential area. The PM should take the initiative to look into the welfare of the residents in Danau Kota.

  24. Dear wwhow

So far there is no positive updates on Uptown Pasar Malam. However, all the MPs in Wilayah will be having a meeting with Datuk Bandar on 4th December 2009 at 5 pm to 7 pm. I will definitely bring up the interference into the administration of DBKL by the PM’s political secretary, Datuk Shafie Abdullah, Uptown Pasar Malam, telecommunication discs erected on shop houses, tables and chairs placed on the road by restaurant owners/hawkers, securities and other issues.

I will also bring this matter tot he attention to Parliament next week during the 2010 Budget Debate Committee Stage.

If you have other specific issues or problems that you want me to bring up during this meeting please post them in this blog or send to my email: weechookeong@gmail.com

May I take this opportunity to wish all my Muslim friends Selamat Hari Raya Adil Adha and a pleasant holidays for the non-Muslim friends.

    Thank you.

    Wee Choo Keong

  25. hi sir :

today is 30 nov2009 , just now i pass thru the danau kota pasar malam , i notice about 30-40 more stall are infesting at the center of existing , it seem like new comer , new stalls are using BLUE CANVAS, secondly is the steamboat trader, the are settle their stalls everywhere , especially road junction and the divider .

seems like the DBKL or some related parties is really making tons of money from this , thats why they keep increase the stalls and fulfill their pocket.

Y.B, in order to stop them(DBKL, DATUK SHAFIE, MENTERI W.P) from giving lame excuse (such as: penjaja mengamuk, can;t find suitable place, take time to consider kinda non-sense). just ask for when are they going to shift the pasar malam to else where , as far as possible from danau kota. no more delay please .
