Mohd Yusof Bin Alwi: the little napoleon behind lifting of Stop Work Order against Platinum Victory!

On Saturday, 19 October 2008, Platinum Victory was slapped with a Stop Work Order by DBKL for continuously violating the construction work time as stipulated in the Development Order. (Details here.)

Four days later on Thursday, 23 October 2008, En Mohd Yusof Bin Alwi, Pengarah of Jabatan Bangunan of DBKL, single-handedly lifted the Stop Work Order under questionable circumstances and without the prior knowledge of other high ranking officers including Datuk Salleh Yusuf (Ketua Pengarah of DBKL) and Datuk Bandar.

Why change the name of Jalan Alor?

There are certain things we just don’t do. Like changing the name of a street that’s already well-known in the world and a must-visit destination for tourists. Jalan Alor, famous for the wide variety of tasty and reasonably priced food up and down both sides of the street, was such a street that was unnecessarily renamed Jalan Kejora by DBKL recently. Many people are not happy with the change and they are speaking up against it.

They had also lodged complaints against Platinum Victory Sdn Bhd for continuously flouting the law by carrying out construction work past working hours and during Sundays and public holidays but Jabatan Bangunan of DBKL just ignored their complaints.
