There are certain things we just don’t do. Like changing the name of a street that’s already well-known in the world and a must-visit destination for tourists. Jalan Alor, famous for the wide variety of tasty and reasonably priced food up and down both sides of the street, was such a street that was unnecessarily renamed Jalan Kejora by DBKL recently. Many people are not happy with the change and they are speaking up against it.
The residents of Platinum Hill Condo had had months of restless and sleepless nights. They had also lodged complaints against Platinum Victory Sdn Bhd for continuously flouting the law by carrying out construction work past working hours and during Sundays and public holidays but Jabatan Bangunan of DBKL just ignored their complaints.
The internet, like most tools, has its positive side and negative one.
It is positive when one uses it to be productive in one’s work and hobby, helps one increase knowledge, communicate and share information for the benefit of society. On the other hand it will be bad use of the technology if one uses the internet to add further to or give rise to new social problems.

In September 2008 DBKL had given warning to Platinum Victory Sdn Bhd that the permitted working hours are from 8 am to 6 pm from Monday to Saturday and if Platinum Victory Sdn Bhd contravened the said condition then DBKL will issue a “Stop Work Order” for the project. It is a fact that for the past one week Platinum Victory Sdn Bhd had been working until very late at night (sometimes well past midnight) and yesterday (Sunday) the company was carrying out construction work the whole day. These are clear violations of the DBKL conditions on permitted working hours.
