Please allow me to correct you for I wish to correct you that Dr Wafi’s father the YB Tan Sri Dr Hj Abdul Hamid b Hj Othman is alive and well.
MAS turnaround involves disposing all ancillary services like engineering , cargo and pilot training. Non of the major airline do that because these services are complementary to each others . These services to the airlines is like research & developments to the Drug Companies. Have you heard any drug companies spin off their R&D functions. These proposal is another way to give these services cheap to AA and TF. In the end, MAS later on will pay through their nose like the way they are doing now with their catering services. What MAS will get from these spin off is just one off benefits in the P&L and then have to pay high prices to use these services later on. In addition these you don’t need to be a Cambridge’s graduate to come out with these easy option. My grandma which did not go to school probably will make a better proposal if given the chance!

Kerugian MAS ada lah di sebabkan orang yang menjalankan Pengurusan MAS saperti Idris Jala dan pengantinya Tengku Baharuddin merupakan orang yang tidak ada pengalaman dalam menguruskan syarikat Penerbangan.
Cuba bayangkan MAS mempunyai 100 buah kapal terbang tetapi mempunyai 21 ribu pekerja.Air aSIA MEMPUNYAI 7 KAPAL TERBANG TETAPI HANYA DI KENDALIUKAN IOLEH 300 pekerja sahaja.
Pendek kata Kerajaan malaysia yang merupakan pemegang saham utama MAS,penny wise pound foolish.

Of course, Amok had the Winner before the share snap was signed. He had already pick TF and his organizations as the winner. That Binta Tak Fikir boy, Danny, was to expedite the process of the share suap. that’s how Danny was rushing to London after 7 days of share snap being signed paid RM18 million to QPR to help the red indian’s QPR. That was immediate beginning of cannibalization of MAS.

1) why aren’t MAS keeping the kangaroo routes which are supposed to be profitable routes?
2) why only three 100% subsidiaries? why engineering, mascargo, training, airport ops not 100% owned when cargo is a profitable set up while engg, training and airport ops are possible money makers.

I am afraid that you are fighting a lost cause. Of course all MAS staff fellt bad and betrayed by the swap but there is nothing we can do now. People keep on asking PM yo put a stop to this. Don’t they realise that this is done with PM’s blessing?
Khazanah has ran out of ideas on how to turn around MAS . Govt no longer can afford to bail MAS and in all sincerity they thought that the collaboration is a good idea.
MAS is in deep shit is not because of TF, KM, AJ nor Danny. Why can’t they get it through their thick skull? MAS has been mismanaged for a long long time that the only way out is to declare bankruptcy and close it down and start new. Leakages are at all levels. There is no accountability. The rot is too deep. The staff feels that they are doing MAS a favour by working with MAS. So many families working there, husband and wife in the same department, cousins, sisters , bothers etcetc.
Neither AJ,Danny ,TF nor KM can save MAS.

yea…sokong Abdullah.MAS memang banyak kroni. semua ada. dari peringkat atas sehingga yang bawah. semua mesti ada saudara. saya telah mencuba nasib melalui temuduga dengan berbekalkan pendidikan dan bukannya ‘cable’ ternyata saya tidak mendapat tempat dihati mereka kerana nama-nama kami yang mengikuti temuduga dengan sendiri berbekalkan doa dan harapan tidak menjadi. Allah itu adil. Mungkin selepas ini, MAS akan juga bersifat telus nterutama dalam pengambilan pekerja baru. Kami yang tidak ada saudara di dalam MAS juga seharusnya diberi peluang yang sama.
Saya bukan anti-MAS tetapi dengan hati yang terbuka saya ingin menceritakan hal sebenar tentang MAS=Mesti Ada Saudara ini kerana saya merupakan seorang mangsa. Bukan juga saya menyalahkan takdir tetapi saya agak terkilan dengan kronisme yang masih terdapat dalam syraikat-syarikat di Malaysia.
Saya juga tidak menyokong pertukaran sahan ini kerana ini merugikan negara dan rakyat Malaysia sendiri. TF berusaha untuk menguasai Malaysia.

Sekarang MAS dah jadi Mesti Ada Saudara (kat Air Asia). Kalau tak pun mesti ada perhubungan business dengan Air Asia.

Isu utama adalah pertukaran saham yang tak adil pada MAS sebagai penerbangan negara. Anasir macam si TF memang nak gunakan masalah dalaman MAS untuk tiket dia memecah belahkan MAS. Itu yang TF nak.
Masalah dalaman di AA tak bnyak ke? lebih teruk lagi dengan AA cumanya dalam AA tak siapa berani bersuara…kena buang buta je! di AA si TF adalah amat berkuasa macam R A J A di negeri sarang semut. AA company ciput je..kalau nak bandingkan dengan MAS.
Kalau nak tau..semua syarikat-syaraikat milik sdn bhd memang nak tunjuk hebat bahawa pengurusan syarikat mereka lebih hebat daripada syarikat-syarikat milik kerajaan. Tapi sebenarnya mereka bergelumang dengan segala masalah dan tiada yang berhak bersuara…siapa bersuara boleh jalan.. ini syarikat AKU YANG PUNYA…!!
Sebab itu janganlah emosi dengan masalah PENGURUSAN BAWAHAN MAS. Fokus pada peneraju-peneraju MAS yang gaji berpuluh-puluh ribu. Mereka-mereka inilah yang sebabkan MAS seolah-olahnya dah tak boleh diselamatkan lagi.
Azman Mokhtar mesti bertanggung jawab sepenuhnya dalam masalah MAS. Terlalu banyak yang disembunyikan dari pengetahuan awam. Mungkin PM pun tak tau apa yang sebenarnya pertukaran saham tersebut..ini makanya PM tidak dijelaskan secara terperinci..banyak yang disembunyikan…!!
KAMAL: mind your words! There is a truth in your post but to say MAS memang awak sial is too much! Are u a muslim! If yes pse istighfar! majority of the MAS staff is the loyal employees, up & down with MAS. Not all are spoilt. I’ve a daughter working in MAS & when you say that words it hurts… She is the bread winner for my family.
To save MAS does not need any colloboration or share swap with Air Asia, the following (a few tips) need to be look into:
1. re group MAS into 1 entity, no more subsidiary. Each of subsidiary extra expenses to MAS as they need MD, BoD, Senior Manager etc. Nowadays MASkargo, Firefly, MASwings each of them have thier own Managing Director, Bod etc All subsidiary will be categorize as division and all transaction will be under respective cost centre.
2. Look into MAS itself – lot of leakages. i.e I travel recently & noted in the departure hall (KLIA) there is 3 person wearing MAS uniform & I believed they are MAS staff. This three is being assisted by another 3 person wearing diffrent type of uniform, It might be employees of other company who will charge MAS on the assistant services provided to the MAS staff.
From my observation 3 staff is enough to perform the duty in the departure hall. Why need 6 , when 3 of them have less work to do.
That is the thing I notice, if it can happened at the departure hall, it might be also happening on the other area.
3. MAS have it lower fare & highest fare ( at time too expensive) in every flight. When the lower fare is sold out people might not be buying the higher fare, seat wil be left empty. MAS should group the fare & make it average to enable the ticket fare is more afordable. Mind you nowadays rich & famous also very price oriented.
4. Reinstate Firefly turbo jet operations & the original objective as another LCC. MAS should diversified its business not only depending on premium airlines. Singapore Airlines the most profitable airlines acknowledge the importance of LCC & MAS should follow the trend. If Air Asia can make a profit with LCC, why cant MAS do it.
5. Noted that MAS employees does not giving full support to Ahmad Jauhari as the new MD compare to the previous MD who come into MAS family.
base on my observation the issue is Tony Fernandes & Air Asia – the share swap. I think without the share swap AJ will received undevided support from the employees.
The suggestion might be very simple but it might help little bit.
We should not keep on cursing as it bring nowhere…. Keep on giving suggestion, who knows a very simple sugestion when expanded is very useful.

Dragonlord, you’re very wrong about airlines industry survivality. Tengku Azmil has already planted his genius plan to sustain the airlines for the next 100 years. His plan can produce yearly profit up to RM1billion. The person who leaked out info was Bernard Francis who sold info to … and now TF and KM wanted to be the first person to achieve yearly RM1 billion profit and that’s the reason they are jumping ship from Air Asia to MAS. Current status of debts in MAS is 2.5 billion but Air Asia has more than 7 billion of debts. Danny Rashdan is going to make MAS increase its debts from 2.5 billion to 14.5 billion claiming 6 billion plus 6 billion for only 23 new aircrafts.

I’m not in the airline industry, its only a suggestion. If wrong just keep aside. However there is a true fact in the statement.
Item 2 – why must 6 person handling the departure hall whereby 3 is sufficient enough to handle the work & it shows increase of productivity. Why should MAS paying extra expenses. This is one of the leakage noticeable.
In order to regain the glory, we should look into MAS itself. I have the believe that if MAS are cure inside it will fly as high as before.
Azman Mokhtar “We have a winner in mind.” Azman and his ex-business partner Rashdan has AIrAsia in mind. That is the problem with the share swap and collaborative framework that favors AirAsia. So far nothing being given up by AA but MAS has been given up profitable routes all under the name of New Business Plans. To date Rashdan could not brief much on collaborative framework. Bloody Bina tak Fikir two idiots. The Gaji but a practicing cronyism in Khazanah.

but, u don’t lose much…yesterday MAS is a very nice place to work and full of loyalty, that why even 10 years working in MAS, u still consider newbie. after 11th years, then u can say that u are org x brapa baru…after 20 years, baru u blh kata org lama
that is yesterday story…. now today staff moral has reach the lowest possible point and staff are start taking to change job…never happen in MAS…

the Malaysian companies especially the government and GLC, they are trying very hard to suck the rakyat/Malaysia’s treasures, wealth and properties. with the help of the spinner, the job can be done in a short time.
it is truly true that MAS (Mesti Ada Saudara).
i did my internship in one of the company in KLIA. most of them (including ex-MAS staff) telling me that if i wanna join MAS, it is important to have saudara/cable and the process of becoming MAS staff become easy with that. i’m also a degree student and becoming an engineer.
you are the staff with the degree. i don’t know weather you are a pilot or cabin crew or ground staff or you are MASEUS committee. but remember, this case is not only you and other staff of MAS is waching. don’t you know that people like me and others also watching these scenes aven we are not shouting like what you are doing rite now. the ‘mulut puaka’ like you saying others stupid is unacceptable. shamed on you and your family.
i don’t know which university had you attended before. it is no manner at all by calling someone stupid. you can put your degree under my foot and others feet because you can’t accept someone who are criticising you. you shoud or you may take the criticism as a stepping stone to improve yourself and your company.
it is very good if MAS now upgrading their management but as many people see that with the pressure of Tony asking your upper level management to make MAS becomes weak and MAS would be into the drain in a while.

after 30 years in mas, and now into the 7th MD/CEO, I can say with conviction that any hope of any recovery can be safely dumped into the deepest dustbin.Every business plan/transformation plan is rolled out as a quick-fix to the problems of the day, and ignores the rot and the weakest point in mas, which is the way people are hired, trained, developed (or not) and rewarded/punished. Discipline, responsibiity and accountability are just words. Acts of misconduct or negligence afe dealt with by double standards for years. A person known for dishonesty can be promoted to a position of high responsibilty because of “”connections”, in fact the joke is, the bigger you fumble, the higher you gonna be promoted, provided of couse, you have ‘godfathers’. Even when the company is bleeding and on its knees, recruitment and promotions (barely justifiable) continues. The performance mgmt system, run for 5 years, is just a form filling exercise. when vacancies esp at high levels occur, speculation and horsetrading and ‘negotiations’ determine who gets the post. The so-called talent mgmt dept claims to have a talent list no-one knows about, and in any case, when mas keeps bringing in people from outside, the liist is as good as toilet paper.The HR division is run by little napoleons whose motto is ‘do what we say, not what we do’. The new lady with 2 years khazanah training came in to ‘trnaform’HR but she just recycled the same old stale wine in new packaging, and ended up with trusted leiutenants, the Vps who have absolutely no credibilty or capabilty to speak of. one of the great jokes of the transformation is to organise kite-flying for staff!! Now with the new CEO and deputy again parachuted from outside, we have 3 structures abd 2 biz plans in 3 mths with changes to come, before stf can understand one, another comes out. This duo, for all their claimed qualifications have no clue how to manage. plans are rolled out with scant understanding of the sentiment on the ground. sure, they dont have to bother abt the staff (after all arent we responsible for the mess?) but they forget, in order to drive their biz plans (even though the plan is full of holes) it is these same stf they have to buy-in to make it work. now, stf hav to depend on second hand news, rumours etc to find out whats going on, in “dialogues’with unions, only vague and contradictory answers ae given, finally, the credibilty of these 2 as far as the stf are concerned is ZERO. the whole issue of mas is the PEOPLE, many good and loyal ones who are simply outnumbered by the politiking goons.
put the untrustworthy nonexec union into the whole pot, then what we end up with is a great big mess which made us vulnerable to predators, as has now happened. we simply brought it upon ourselves. MAS is doomed.
Further to anonymous comments about MAS being doomed, its not just from inside thats rotten, MAS has from as long as anyone can remember, been the “gunong eMAS” for the ruling politicians and their honcos, who have been known to say ‘ini kan kita punya’. Our profitable competitor down south has no such ‘baggage’ to consider when making business decisions, they practice meritocracy too, so it is no surprise they are consistently successful. For too long, the mismanagement from inside and the inteference from outside, as a long serving staff, I can see no transformation or any recovery plan will work. Just close shop hand everything on a golden platter to AA and Tony. After all this is what the new Business Plan will sooner or later bring us to – nothing, after everything has been stripped, cannibalised, subsidiarised etc in the name of Collaboration. To AJ and danny, stop lying and beating around the bush to staff, your Plan has no support from the staff. Only the union you are trying to buy out (only ONE, not the rest) are making the right ‘noises’ to support you, but thats only because the leaders all have their price. But please remember, for the many lives that are going to be affected, there is always a greater power even greater than the greatest man, that will decide on how all of you, from Amokh, danny, TF, will one day end, when it is time to meet your MAKER.

I joined MAS more than 20 years ago and is still with the company. I’ve been thru a good time and also the bad times with the company. There is just too much to say as I have the privilige to meet and talk to all the important staff of MAS at every levels including at board level.
But I gues, nobody is interested with the truth anymore. Deep in my heart, I admit that MAS is doomed, unless the Govt now interfere and keep MAS as a single company like what it used to be before that fucker Tajuddin came.

MAS turnaround involves disposing all ancillary services like engineering , cargo and pilot training. Non of the major airline do that because these services are complementary to each others . These services to the airlines is like research & developments to the Drug Companies. Have you heard any drug companies spin off their R&D functions. These proposal is another way to give these services cheap to AA and TF. In the end, MAS later on will pay through their nose like the way they are doing now with their catering services. What MAS will get from these spin off is just one off benefits in the P&L and then have to pay high prices to use these services later on. In addition these you don’t need to be a Cambridge’s graduate to come out with these easy option. My grandma which did not go to school probably will make a better proposal if given the chance!

Khazanah has ran out of ideas on how to turn around MAS . Govt no longer can afford to bail MAS and in all sincerity they thought that the collaboration is a good idea.
MAS is in deep shit is not because of TF, KM, AJ nor Danny. Why can’t they get it through their thick skull? MAS has been mismanaged for a long long time that the only way out is to declare bankruptcy and close it down and start new. Leakages are at all levels. There is no accountability. Isu utama adalah pertukaran saham yang tak adil pada MAS sebagai penerbangan negara. Anasir macam si TF memang nak gunakan masalah dalaman MAS untuk tiket dia memecah belahkan MAS. Itu yang TF nak.

Kalau nak tau..semua syarikat-syaraikat milik sdn bhd memang nak tunjuk hebat bahawa pengurusan syarikat mereka lebih hebat daripada syarikat-syarikat milik kerajaan. Tapi sebenarnya mereka bergelumang dengan segala masalah dan tiada yang berhak bersuara…siapa bersuara boleh jalan.. ini syarikat AKU YANG PUNYA…!!
Sebab itu janganlah emosi dengan masalah PENGURUSAN BAWAHAN MAS. Fokus pada peneraju-peneraju MAS yang gaji berpuluh-puluh ribu. Mereka-mereka inilah yang sebabkan MAS seolah-olahnya dah tak boleh diselamatkan lagi.
Azman Mokhtar mesti bertanggung jawab sepenuhnya dalam masalah MAS. Terlalu banyak yang disembunyikan dari pengetahuan awam. Mungkin PM pun tak tau apa yang sebenarnya pertukaran saham tersebut..ini makanya PM tidak dijelaskan secara terperinci..banyak yang disembunyikan…!!
KAMAL: mind your words! There is a truth in your post but to say MAS memang awak sial is too much! Are u a muslim! If yes pse istighfar! majority of the MAS staff is the loyal employees, up & down with MAS. Not all are spoilt. I’ve a daughter working in MAS & when you say that words it hurts… She is the bread winner for my family.
To save MAS does not need any colloboration or share swap with Air Asia, the following (a few tips) need to be look into:
1. re group MAS into 1 entity, no more subsidiary. Each of subsidiary extra expenses to MAS as they need MD, BoD, Senior Manager etc. Nowadays MASkargo, Firefly, MASwings each of them have thier own Managing Director, Bod etc All subsidiary will be categorize as division and all transaction will be under respective cost centre.
2. Look into MAS itself – lot of leakages. i.e I travel recently & noted in the departure hall (KLIA) there is 3 person wearing MAS uniform & I believed they are MAS staff. This three is being assisted by another 3 person wearing diffrent type of uniform, It might be employees of other company who will charge MAS on the assistant services provided to the MAS staff.
From my observation 3 staff is enough to perform the duty in the departure hall. Why need 6 , when 3 of them have less work to do.
That is the thing I notice, if it can happened at the departure hall, it might be also happening on the other area.
3. MAS have it lower fare & highest fare ( at time too expensive) in every flight. When the lower fare is sold out people might not be buying the higher fare, seat wil be left empty. MAS should group the fare & make it average to enable the ticket fare is more afordable. Mind you nowadays rich & famous also very price oriented.
4. Reinstate Firefly turbo jet operations & the original objective as another LCC. MAS should diversified its business not only depending on premium airlines. Singapore Airlines the most profitable airlines acknowledge the importance of LCC & MAS should follow the trend. If Air Asia can make a profit with LCC, why cant MAS do it.
5. Noted that MAS employees does not giving full support to Ahmad Jauhari as the new MD compare to the previous MD who come into MAS family.
base on my observation the issue is Tony Fernandes & Air Asia – the share swap. I think without the share swap AJ will received undevided support from the employees.
The suggestion might be very simple but it might help little bit.
We should not keep on cursing as it bring nowhere…. Keep on giving suggestion, who knows a very simple sugestion when expanded is very useful.

Dragonlord, you’re very wrong about airlines industry survivality. Tengku Azmil has already planted his genius plan to sustain the airlines for the next 100 years. His plan can produce yearly profit up to RM1billion. The person who leaked out info was Bernard Francis who sold info to … and now TF and KM wanted to be the first person to achieve yearly RM1 billion profit and that’s the reason they are jumping ship from Air Asia to MAS. Current status of debts in MAS is 2.5 billion but Air Asia has more than 7 billion of debts. Danny Rashdan is going to make MAS increase its debts from 2.5 billion to 14.5 billion claiming 6 billion plus 6 billion for only 23 new aircrafts.

I’m not in the airline industry, its only a suggestion. If wrong just keep aside. However there is a true fact in the statement.
Item 2 – why must 6 person handling the departure hall whereby 3 is sufficient enough to handle the work & it shows increase of productivity. Why should MAS paying extra expenses. This is one of the leakage noticeable.
In order to regain the glory, we should look into MAS itself. I have the believe that if MAS are cure inside it will fly as high as before.

i did my internship in one of the company in KLIA. most of them (including ex-MAS staff) telling me that if i wanna join MAS, it is important to have saudara/cable and the process of becoming MAS staff become easy with that. i’m also a degree student and becoming an engineer.
you are the staff with the degree. i don’t know weather you are a pilot or cabin crew or ground staff or you are MASEUS committee. but remember, this case is not only you and other staff of MAS is waching. don’t you know that people like me and others also watching these scenes aven we are not shouting like what you are doing rite now. the ‘mulut puaka’ like you saying others stupid is unacceptable. shamed on you and your family.
i don’t know which university had you attended before. it is no manner at all by calling someone stupid. you can put your degree under my foot and others feet because you can’t accept someone who are criticising you. you shoud or you may take the criticism as a stepping stone to improve yourself and your company.
it is very good if MAS now upgrading their management but as many people see that with the pressure of Tony asking your upper level management to make MAS becomes weak and MAS would be into the drain in a while.

after 30 years in mas, and now into the 7th MD/CEO, I can say with conviction that any hope of any recovery can be safely dumped into the deepest dustbin.Every business plan/transformation plan is rolled out as a quick-fix to the problems of the day, and ignores the rot and the weakest point in mas, which is the way people are hired, trained, developed (or not) and rewarded/punished. Discipline, responsibiity and accountability are just words. Acts of misconduct or negligence afe dealt with by double standards for years. A person known for dishonesty can be promoted to a position of high responsibilty because of “”connections”, in fact the joke is, the bigger you fumble, the higher you gonna be promoted, provided of couse, you have ‘godfathers’. Even when the company is bleeding and on its knees, recruitment and promotions (barely justifiable) continues. The performance mgmt system, run for 5 years, is just a form filling exercise. when vacancies esp at high levels occur, speculation and horsetrading and ‘negotiations’ determine who gets the post. The so-called talent mgmt dept claims to have a talent list no-one knows about, and in any case, when mas keeps bringing in people from outside, the liist is as good as toilet paper.The HR division is run by little napoleons whose motto is ‘do what we say, not what we do’. The new lady with 2 years khazanah training came in to ‘trnaform’HR but she just recycled the same old stale wine in new packaging, and ended up with trusted leiutenants, the Vps who have absolutely no credibilty or capabilty to speak of. one of the great jokes of the transformation is to organise kite-flying for staff!! Now with the new CEO and deputy again parachuted from outside, we have 3 structures abd 2 biz plans in 3 mths with changes to come, before stf can understand one, another comes out. This duo, for all their claimed qualifications have no clue how to manage. plans are rolled out with scant understanding of the sentiment on the ground. sure, they dont have to bother abt the staff (after all arent we responsible for the mess?) but they forget, in order to drive their biz plans (even though the plan is full of holes) it is these same stf they have to buy-in to make it work. now, stf hav to depend on second hand news, rumours etc to find out whats going on, in “dialogues’with unions, only vague and contradictory answers ae given, finally, the credibilty of these 2 as far as the stf are concerned is ZERO. the whole issue of mas is the PEOPLE, many good and loyal ones who are simply outnumbered by the politiking goons.
put the untrustworthy nonexec union into the whole pot, then what we end up with is a great big mess which made us vulnerable to predators, as has now happened. we simply brought it upon ourselves. MAS is doomed.
Further to anonymous comments about MAS being doomed, its not just from inside thats rotten, MAS has from as long as anyone can remember, been the “gunong eMAS” for the ruling politicians and their honcos, who have been known to say ‘ini kan kita punya’. Our profitable competitor down south has no such ‘baggage’ to consider when making business decisions, they practice meritocracy too, so it is no surprise they are consistently successful. For too long, the mismanagement from inside and the inteference from outside, as a long serving staff, I can see no transformation or any recovery plan will work. Just close shop hand everything on a golden platter to AA and Tony. After all this is what the new Business Plan will sooner or later bring us to – nothing, after everything has been stripped, cannibalised, subsidiarised etc in the name of Collaboration. To AJ and danny, stop lying and beating around the bush to staff, your Plan has no support from the staff. Only the union you are trying to buy out (only ONE, not the rest) are making the right ‘noises’ to support you, but thats only because the leaders all have their price. But please remember, for the many lives that are going to be affected, there is always a greater power even greater than the greatest man, that will decide on how all of you, from Amokh, danny, TF, will one day end, when it is time to meet your MAKER.

Keep on fighting among yourself. This is what all those bastards like TF, KM, AJ, Danny, Amok, etc like to see. Divide and conquer, and they are laughing from afar seeing this.
I joined MAS more than 20 years ago and is still with the company. I’ve been thru a good time and also the bad times with the company. There is just too much to say as I have the privilige to meet and talk to all the important staff of MAS at every levels including at board level.
But I gues, nobody is interested with the truth anymore. Deep in my heart, I admit that MAS is doomed, unless the Govt now interfere and keep MAS as a single company like what it used to be before that fucker Tajuddin came.
Excuse for my langauge coz I cannot stand to hear the name of the man who has destroyed this company.
