I like the questions. I am looking forward to all the answers to the parliamentary Questions posed by YB Wee. Can’t wait to hear what Minister of Transport is going to tell us about AirAsia, the only privilege private company under Bodohwi’s government. Can’t wait to hear what Bodohwi is going to tell us about the the scndals in the Oil-For-Food Programek, which featured the Sleepy Head.Can’t for May to come.
We got 10 MP from Pakatan Rakyat. I would like to see what the government is to reply on the question of election to be held for the post of Datuk Bandar KL.En Tahir detention under ISA is another interesting question. Mr Wee you are not sparing Dato Tony Fernandes. He is a corporate genius and he made AirAisa makes million of Ringgit overnight. Of course, after adding millions of Ringgit on tax allowance to the profit. Let see what the Father-in-law is going to say about those questions on AirAsia special right to monopolise.
YB Wee why you didn’t ask about the report of the Royal Commission on Lingam Video Clip to be made public. In fact there are many more questions that we wish you would ask. Like the hanky pankies in DBKL and etc.I am happy with those questions but I would like my MP to ask more questions. Next time please ask more questions and screw the SIL and father in law. I am awaiting patiently for Parliament to start at the end of this month.

Lets see whether TonyFernandes can make Air Asia to be airline of the year after Badawi steps down soon. Since Tony Fernades has spoken in Sharizat ceramah in Lembah Pantai, I am sure Air Asia guaranteed to fly. I am waiting to see how Tony Fernandes, Kalimullah and son-in-law how high they will fly after Badawi resign!!

What a restriction!!!After I have submitted the questions I knew I have miss some important questions and I could not ascertain until I read your comment. Thank you for pointing out. I beg your pardon.However, all is not lost. I can always talk about it during the debate on the Royal Address. I still have a lot more questions which I would like to ask but I had to priorities them.Please trust me that I shall bring up many other issues including the Sport Minister (Azlina) arbitrarily withdrawal of co-operation with the non BN state governments during the debate on Royal Address. Even now no criticism on the sleepyhead. When Tun M criticised sleepyhead, the elder Lim will condemn Tun M. How strange?
Ong Tee Keat said he will do a tell-all session with the case of PKFX (concerning Port Klang). We fully supported Ong over his attitude.We sincerely hope that he will do a tell-all session on the questions on Air Asia. Malaysians are waiting to hear Ong to do a tell-all on AirAsia. We would like to know how Datuk Tony Fernandes has made AirAsia into such grand company with no help whatsoever from the Son In law. We can hear that Tony is breathing very heavily now. Why so worry Tony if you are doing so well according to all your press statements. Air Asia can only succeed under your great leadership! With or without the SIL?

Mr WeeI seem to get the impression that you have something against AirAsia and Tony Fernandes.In order to clear the picture, I hope that you will also ask the Transport Minister why the Spore govt, through the Civil Aviation Authority of Spore, built a Budget Terminal at Changi Airport, when Changi’s Terminals 1 and 2 are not fully utilised. The more so now that Changi’s Terminal 3 is operational. Was the LCCT at KLIA put up at such speed in order to compete with Changi’s Budget Terminal? Did AirAsia lobby Msia Airports and the govt to construct the LCCT, and if it did, for what reasons?Please also ask the Transport Minister the following:- did the govt use public funds to help set up AirAsia?- did the govt commit public funds to help AirAsia in its purchase of Airbus A320 aircraft (175 on order, of which 37 have been delivered up to now)?- if the govt did not commit public funds for the aircraft purchase, did it issue a “letter of comfort” or a “sovereign guarantee” to the banks who will provide the financing to AirAsia for the purchase of the Airbus aircraft?- does Malaysia have a national aviation policy? If it has, what roles do MAS and AirAsia play in the policy?- how many “open skies”agreements has Malaysia entered into with other countries, and has MAS fully utilised the traffic rights under such agreements?- will those who were responsible for MAS incurring hefty losses and necessitating a bailout from the govt, be held accountable and brought to book?- did AirAsia lobby the govt to accept and ratify the Asean “open skies” agreement, the first phase of which is the removal of restrictions on flights between Asean capitals by the end of this year?- did the govt subsidise the costs of operating the rural air services in Sabah and Sarawak by MAS? How much was paid to MAS as subsidies from the time it started the rural air services to the time AirAsia took over the services?- why did AirAsia opt out of operating the rural air services in Sabah and Sarawak? Did the contract the airline entered into allow for such an opting-out?- how does the govt propose to make KLIA a regional air hub against competition from Singapore and Bangkok, and what roles will MAS and AirAsia play in this?Fair and balanced, Mr Wee – that’s the way to go.
Mr Wee, oral/written parliamentary questions isn’t that juicy, because the rules allow the person who got asked have time to prepare for the question.The real juicy part is “additional question”, which then you ask it straightaway after the answer of the first oral/written question, catching the ministers completely off guard. But of course you must make sure that both type of questions must be relevant and interconnected, so it will not let the BN making propagandas saying that opposition parties are just trouble makers that are obstacles of national development.Let’s stop making the holy parliament be a playground for those mat undi posts and monkeys as well as hantu-hantu. Some of them would just deliberately absent, sleeping during meeting, or just asking irrelevant questions to the ministers, collaborating with them a few weeks ago. This is to “show” to the public that BN are really doing their jobs by asking questions, as well as a conform to the party whip system.Some of my personal questions:1) As to the response to the would-be-implementing RON95 unleaded petrol to the public, what is the actual cost of producing RON97 (the RM1.92 per liter type) and what shall be the actual price of it after the cancellation of subsidization?2) When is the actual building date of the Gerbang Perdana? The traffic congestion at the JB-Woodlands Causeway is makign both nations losing millions of RMs in terms of economy per year.2a) Will there be Rapid JB systems in JB? Will the system be link up with singapore’s MRT? If this can be implemented, it will ease a lot of the traffic flows around JB and boost the economy of JB and SG tremendously.3) About the public transport system in KL, when shall the new kelana jaya line extended cabin cars be arrived? What will be cost? How many will be purchased? Any further plans for extended line?4) About the upcoming Penang monorail, what is the specification of it? What is the cost? What is the routes and where shall the stations be build? I would hope something like MRT of singapore because it is more efficient than our current LRT system. Sorry the translations will only be up tomorrow….. too lengthy.
What really irks me is that the MPs (whether incumbent or opposition)can unilaterally ask for a raise in their allowance.For heaven’s sake, those extra money comes from the people’s wallet! How can you ask for a raise when the people didn’t get theirs first?
Good questions, though I wish a question about the rising crime rate could be snuck in, or more specifically, what is the status of Nurin’s killer and Sharlinie’s wehreabouts. What is PDRM doing? Hopefully, one of our MPs will raise it up and we could have a debate on it.

I am impressed with the quality of of your questions. All are tailored to be of qualitative in nature as compared with quantitative questions. This is where you will go for the “kill” after the Ministers have given the initial answers.There’s always the talk of government subsidizing our petrol price.Is “subsidizing” here means government forking out from its coffer to pay to Petronas so that we get lower price?Why the need to build the LCCT when KLIA is becoming empty these days? The location of LCCT is nothing but making a big round of KLIA. Not long ago MAHB says in time to come when LCCT can’t accomodate higher capacity, they intend to build a new one turning the existing one into a cargo complex. Now they are trying to revive Subang airport with Fire Fly serving there. What a plan going one big round and waste of resources.

hi, when is the opposition coming out with shadow cabinet? We know it’s been busy for you guys. However, this is one of the more important things that need to be done. If there’s a shadow cabinet, the opposition can watch the government more closely & the questions ask will become more focus.

But in view of the hike of oil price, the recent years wang ehsan could well exceed RM 1 billion A YEAR.So since inception in 1999, the total wang ehsan could be much more, guesstimate, maybe RM5 billion to RM10 billion and NOT just RM1.2 billion as YB has stated.
Mr WeeYou are being evasive in your reply.(1) Can you be specific, instead of alluding in vague terms, as to exactly what help Tony Fernandes got from “the minister or indirectly from third party” to set up AirAsia?(2) Are you aware that the Singapore-based low-cost carriers have shareholders with deep pockets? In the case of Tiger Airways, SIA owns 49% of the company. Temasek Holdings, a Spore SWF, is the majority shareholder of SIA. In the case of Jetstar Asia, both Qantas and Temasek are substantial shareholders. Does Khazanah, PNB or EPF have a substantial stake in AirAsia?(3) Are you even aware of the implications of “open skies” agreements? What will prevent MAS from taking full advantage of such agreements, seeing that it is a “full service” airline (or a “5 star value carrier”), as opposed to AirAsia’s no-frills service? Are you suggesting that MAS doesn’t have the management capability to step up to the “open skies” challenge?(4) Please be specific as to what debts AirAsia owes to MAHB.(5) AirAsia is not the only user of the LCCT at KLIA. Tiger Airways and Cebu Pacific are also low-cost carriers who use the LCCT. So it cannot be said that the LCCT was built for the exclusive use of AirAsia (a point which IATA has made to the Msian govt – that the LCCT has to be open to all airlines servicing KLIA – which you may not be aware of).(6) As to why MAHB awarded the construction contract for the LCCT at KLIA to a particular company, without going for an open tender, is a question that should be addressed to MAHB. What has it got to do with AirAsia? Unless you are implying that AirAsia, or its shareholders, benefited improperly in some way from the said contract.(7) With regard to the supposed “inflation” of AirAsia’s profits by the inclusion of tax allowances, the question to be asked is whether AirAsia’s independent external auditors signed off on it, or whether they “qualified” AirAsia’s accounts because of this. That should be easy to find out, yes?(8) There are many criteria to judge how well an airline is doing. Statistics such as fleet size and age, number of passengers, revenue, net profit, revenue per employee and net profit per employee can be used to benchmark against other airlines. I note that MAS has consistently refused to benchmark itself against its key regional rivals – SIA, Thai and Cathay Pacific.
I read with concern in the press today about robbery in the KLIA. There are places that robbers are known to strike the same area more than once.Why are criminals getting bolder these days? Who are these people? Are they locals or foreigners? Are they junkies or unemployed? Is the country’s economy getting bad or there’s social problem failed to address that result in delinquent.I think PDRM shall go to the root of the problem by sharing with us the criminal profiles rather than giving boardroom statistical figures which do not translate a thing if problem still continues.

Why must the Bodohwi government used taxpayers monies to specially build LCCT (for AirAsia to call its home) when the KLIA is so under used? When one visit LCCT, one can’t help but to feel that it is an AirAsia terminal. Well, AirAsia has called LCCT as its home. Why can’t you wait for the Minister to reply the Parliamentary Questions? Once the answers are given then you will know the sum owed by AirAsia to MAHB. So no need to rush for the answer. After having returned the rural air services to MAS, don’t you agree that AirAsia had to pay back all the subsidies it has received to the government. I am not prepared to allow AirAsia, a private entity to enjoy taxpayers monies. You need not worry, I am sure that Tony Fernandes is capable of answering those questions without any problems. To: Skilgannon 1066I would like to first respond to issues raised by Skilgannon after which I am more than happy to be corrected / clarified by YB Wee:-1) It is not advisable to insist that YB explicit say certain things about the Minister of Transport. You want him to be unnecessarily sued for defamation. Let it take its course by the relevant govt agencies answering the queries raised by YB. That is only fair. 2) Yes, it is only natural for shareholders of airlines to have deep pockets. On the other hand, these airlines can also finance their expansion and operations via issuing bonds, commercial papers etc. But you need to convince bond subscribers and the like that your co is viable. You can’t do that if you fudge your accounts e.g. Air Asia.3) Whether it is open, closed, half open or half closed skies, you need to be financially viable -and this must be done in a transparent manner. MAS under Idris Jala is doing a better job at this than Tony’s Air Asia. The latter is full of hype and this isreflected in its ashare price (and it never goes up!)4) Air Asia’s debts to MAHB – you can go check Air Asia’s accounts. Even then, you cannot trust the accounts because it is fudged.5) Use of LCCT by other airlines – That is actually not the point. It just does not make economic sense to use taxpayers’ money to built the LCCT in the first place when KLIA is already under-utilised!6) Awarding of the construction of LCCT to Fajar. Of course it is a connected and convoluted arrangement. Let YB get his answers to the questions. Don’t jump the gun and try to throw cold water on his efforts. Let’s be fair to YB.7) Accounts of Air Asia – Inflated profits. It is obvious Skilgannon 1066 is ignorant of the scandals of Enron, Transmile etc, the role of auditors in it. The setting up of an Oversight Board for auditors attests to the confidence factor (or the lack of it) attributed to the auditors (in case you didn’t know, auditors need to be audited now!) Sigh!8) MAS has not benchmarked itself to other airlines because it is ot out of the woods yet. They are being realistic. This compares to another local airline gloating and cheering as though it is greater than thou! Sigh!

Yet the Spore govt, through CAAS, thought it fit to build a dedicated Budget Terminal at Changi. Why do this?If you can answer that, you may just be able to fathom why MAHB decided to build the LCCT at KLIA.And I would be interested to know just how much MAS has received in govt subsidies to run the rural air services in Sabah and Sarawak from the time such services were introduced. And why was MAS unable to make a profit on the rural air services in spite of govt subsidies?To say that AirAsia should fund the construction of the new LCCT at KLIA is just as asinine as saying that Tiger Airways should fund the cost of building the Budget Terminal at Changi. We are not in the league of Singapore or Hongkong in terms of through put passengers, connections etc etc. We have first class infrastructure but third class implementation.We cannot use foreign examples that are high in investors’ confidence and say that we in Malaysia (low in investors’ confidence) should do like-wise. Friends,If anyone were to go to LCCT, the home of Air Asia according to Tony Fernades, would you believe that the whole LCCT complex worth RM108 million. I have my doubt. I think Skilgannong 1066 would definitely agree with the cost of RM108 million for the LCCT and then he will supports Badawi to built another LCCT costing a few more hundred million Ringgit. Thereafter, Malaysians will end paying more taxes to sponsor more LCCTs.

AirAsia should not burden Malaysians with more taxes. AirAsia should use the KLIA like any other airlines. AirAsia should compete with any other airlines including MAS like what a man would do. Air Asia should now show to the world that it is a Bolehairline and go back to KLIA to compete. After campaigning so hard for Sharizat during the GE and now with Sharizat’s holding good post in BN government, I am sure that all can only be well for Tony and AirAsia. Ask the Pak Lah and his Government: 1. why the government had to pay RM60 million subsidy in advance to Air Asia whereas the government paid MAS the subsidy at the end of the year.2. Why the maximum subsidy MAS received was RM14 million for any year for running the rural services for many years and AirAsia was awarded with RM60m before its propellers start to turn?3. What priority the government has when it took care of a private company at the expense of MAS, a government owned company with the rakyat money?No wonder the Rakyat had to pay more taxes!! I just comment on the facts as I see them.In any case, here are 3 questions regarding AirAsia that you might want to ask the Transport Minister to answer:(1) WHY IS AIRASIA USING TERMINAL 1 AT CHANGI AIRPORT, INSTEAD OF CHANGI’S BUDGET TERMINAL, WHEN IT HAS MADE A BIG PLAY OF USING THE LCCT AT KLIA? HAS AIRASIA RECEIVED ANY CONCESSIONS, DISCOUNTS, SUBISIDIES OR REBATES FROM CAAS (THE OWNER OF CHANGI AIRPORT) TO USE TERMINAL 1 THERE? AND HOW IS AIRASIA’S DECISION TO USE CHANGI’S TERMINAL 1 IN KEEPING WITH THE AIRLINE’S EXPRESSED INTENTION TO KEEP OPERATING COSTS AS LOW AS POSSIBLE?(2) WILL THE COLLAPSE OF HONGKONG’S OASIS AIRLINES (A LOW-COST CARRIER THAT OPERATED LONG-HAUL ROUTES) HAVE ANY IMPLICATIONS FOR AIRASIA X, A UNIT OF AIRASIA? REPORTS HAVE SAID THAT OASIS AIRLINES WAS SCREWED BY RISING FUEL COSTS AND A DECISION TO BUY AIRCRAFT INSTEAD OF RENTINT THEM. A STATEMENT ATTRIBUTED TO RAYMOND AND PRISCILLA LEE, THE FOUNDERS OF OASIS AIRLINES, AS CARRIED BY AFP READ: “AS A NEWLY STARTED AIRLINE, WE HAVE FOUND IT NEXT TO IMPOSSIBLE TO OBTAIN A CREDIT FACILITY FROM FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS TO CARRY OUT FUEL-HEDGING PROGRAMMES. WE ONLY MANAGED TO HEDGE ONCE SUCCESSFULLY. AS OIL PRICES SHARPLY INCREASED, THE FUEL COSTS TOOK UP THE MAJORITY OF OUR BUDGET.”(3) WILL THE TRANSPORT MINISTER CONFIRM, ON BEHALF OF THE GOVERNMENT, THAT THERE WILL BE NO BAIL-OUT OF AIRASIA OR AIRASIA X, USING PUBLIC FUNDS OR BY PROVIDING IMPLICIT OR EXPLICIT GUARANTEES TO FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS, IN THE EVENT OF EITHER AIRLINE GOING OUT OF BUSINESS FOR WHATEVER REASON?That should be pretty comprehensive, yes?I call them as I see them. Fair and balanced.

Skilgannon 1066, I am appreciative of your stand and your comments on AirAsia and other low cost carrier like Oasis. I am aware of the collapsed of Oasis. I shall bring your comments to the attention of the Minister of Transport, who is no longer Datuk Chan Kong Choy! I am very certain that all fair-minded Malaysians have had enough of bailed outs of well connected ailing companies or any company by BN government all this while. The reason being that it burdened the taxpayers like you and me.Another important point is that we must stop company from advertising cost of their product say at RM10-00 in the newspapers and when the actual transaction took place wither through the internet or elsewhere was much more than RM10-00 – may be RM100-00 or more This is most unacceptable and amounted to cheating the unsuspected public!I shall be bringing this matter to Parliament so that all advertised price for products in the newspapers must reflect the actual prices. It is my duty to prevent members of innocent public from being cheated directly or indirectly by such unfair advertisement.May I have your comments please. Friends and KL residentsI am really sick and fed up with DBKL innate behaviour of not performing their statutory duties of providing an efficient social services for us all. I have to constantly doing the jobs for Datuk bandar Kuala Lumpur and his staff. They received all the big fat salary for doing nothing. Gaji buta period.DBKL is a sorry state of affairs. I am restricted to only 10 oral questions and 5 written questions for parliament otherwise I can ask DBKL more penetrative questions. MP in WP are bogged down by DBKL inefficiencies and the tidak apa attitude of the top management including the Datuk Bandar Kuala Lumpur.What do you think if we put the QUESTION OF THE WEEK ABOUT DBKL?
