Skandal Sime Darby
Izinkan saya menyentuh tentang Sime Darby Berhad dan kerugiannya yang kini mencecah 2 billion ringgit.
Kerugian syarikat ini dalam dua projek di Qatar telah bermula pada tahun 2007, tetapi dalam kenyataan-kenyataan akhbar yang di buat oleh pihak syarikat sehingga ke tahun 2009, ianya di nafikan.
Ini bermakna Sime Darby bukan saja membohongi pemegang-pemegang sahamnya, malah ianya telah menipu Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia, Bursa Malaysia dan Suruhanjaya Sekuriti.
Di sini saya ingin bertanya YB Menteri Kewangan apakah tindakan
I’m wondering, if the losses are occurred since 1997 , why the external auditor (independent?) can give unqualified report as true and fair view of the Financial Statements for that year onwards. MIA should investigate this matter too!!!

Yang Berhormat, I am of the view that ordinary general public should not bother about Sime Darby’s losses.
As a matter of fact, Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB), as a major shareholder of Sime Darby,remain silent on this issue.
We could also see that PNB did not take any action on this issue.
I believe that you are aware, Deputy Chairman of Sime Darby, also holds the Chairmanship position in PNB.
I hope that you will understand the implied message behind

These people has no consideration of those invested in all Amanah’s shares . Public hard earned money if PNB goes down.

Who can locate these corrupt elements and finally incriminate and sentence them accordingly? Answer is equally simple: The bureaucrats and the politicians. But when 99% of them are corrupt, who can the normal public look at for a change. Will they propose a law which will punish them and their colleagues who are with them in these corrupt practices?
