Another “Midnight Express” project involving RM110 millions by Abdullah Badawi’s administration!

During the Ijok by-election in 2006, YB Datuk Seri Najib, the Deputy Prime Minister, launched a housing project of 1,117 units of Double-Storey Terrace Low Cost Houses and 2,500 units of Low Cost Flats, reviving an abandoned one. At the ground breaking ceremony, the DPM also promised the people of Ijok that the said project will be awarded through Open Tender in order to ensure that prices of the houses will be kept as low as possible.

But on 24 April 2007, the Ministry of Finance under Abdullah Badawi quietly issued a Letter of Intent contrary to the said announcement by the DPM. The extract of the said Letter of Intent is as follows:

  1. I am not surprised that this is another project by Budak-Budak Tingkat Empat of Pak Lah. This is the promised REFORM of Pak Lah.

    Is that Chinese Datuk helping? I know that the Chinese Datuk is the real person behind this project. Can someone help with the name please?

    Pak Lah please stop with your “Midnight Express” projects for your cronies. We thought that Tony Fernandes / Air Asia is the only crony. By the look of things, there are more cronies. Now we hear about a Chinese Datuk.

    YB Wee please publish the name of this Datuk.

  2. This is another reform by Pak Lah’s government. What a great reformist PM! I am sure that we will get more midnight express projects between now and March.

    Wow! I thought that Tingkat Empat boys have been disbanded. There are very much around – scary!

  3. What reform? Reform to help family members to be in power politically and influential in business. Reforms what? Reform to give more projects to cronies like RC Soils, Air Asia and etc.

    When March comes and Pak Lah has retired, that will be a real REFORM by itself. UndurLAH dengan secepat mungkin! Rakyat tidak mahu nampak kroni-kroni PM sebagai Tony Fernandes, Datuk….

  4. Under Pak Lah’s government everything center around “Tingkat Empat Boys” and Son-in-Law. And it is for this reason that this country is in deep shit! Actually this country is run by the “Tingkat Empat Boys” headed by SIL.

    Even though the DPM promised the award of the project by Open Tender the Tingkat Empat can ignore and go by direct negotiation. Correct! Correct! Correct! Another project by “Midnight Express”!

    Such project must be stopped at all cost.

  6. YB, let’s focus on the small dangerous issues.

    did you know the snatch thieves operated around wangsa maju/TBR area at arpund 7.15 – 7.30 am? and they will do a ‘lawatan bekerja’ in TBR EVERYDAY at around 6.00pm? kalah wakil rakyat!

    now, we the rakyat of TBR/wangsa maju area are living in fear…counting the days of we being stopped by these thieves and hack with parang.

    to heck la with C4, airasia, msian politicians….we can hack them with parang later.

  8. whatthehey! i’m not so thickheaded afterall! but nowadays reporting it to the police is as useless as the dust in my vacuum cleaner. so, i just wanna y’know…make use of the YB in my area. help him by pointing out all sorts of problem that doesn’t involve any airports and whatnots.

    but i guess you are right. this blog is not a police station….it’s only for any problem at country level not residential area level.

    we the rakyat biasa will fend for ourselves while our leaders are busy performing a circus.

  9. Mana reform yang telah dijanjikan dahulu. Saya maseh ingat lagi dalam majlis perasmian pelancaran membena 1,117 buah rumah teres 2tingkat kos rendah dan 2,500 buah rumah pangsa Najib telah berjanji bahawa projek tersebut akan melalui tender terbuka. Ini untuk menjamin kos rumah tersebut sentiasa rendah. Saya ingat projek tersebut tak jadi setelah BN telah kalah di negeri Selangor. Amat mendukacitakan bila projek tersebut dipilih melalui Surat Hasrat dan bukan melalui Tender Terbuka. Lebeh kecewa lagi melibatkan Budak Tingkat Empat Putrajaya dan Datuk kaum cina membantu syarikat tersebut. Ini adalah salah satu projek ” Midnight Express” diakhir pemerintahan Abdullah Badawi dan reform yang dijanjikan akan tinggal janji……….

  10. The name of that Chinese Datuk, the wheeler and dealer, is Datuk Casey L. If this project is awarded to Medallion by way of direct negotiation with the help of this Datuk Casey then I will have no alternative but to bring it to the attention of Parliament.

    I hope that Minister of Finance “jangan cakap tak serupa bikin” and don’t waste public fund just for the sake of the 4th floor boys.
