The Internal Security Act (ISA) is an outdated piece of legislation. It was originally put into force to curb communist insurgency to preserve the internal security of the nation. Its draconian nature allows the executive government to detain individuals without trial.
Instead of the Act being revoked long time ago because it has outlived its usefulness, of late we have seen it being abused and invoked to detain persons whom the administration believe are a threat to them.
The recent victims are Raja Petra Kamarudin, Tan Hoon Cheng and Teresa Kok.
When there is mass public outcry against their unlawful and unwarranted detentions, the Badawi administration reacted quickly by offering all kinds of public statements. Two of the most prominent leaders who have come out to rationalise the government’s actions are Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi and Home Minister Syed Hamid Albar. At best the statements they make are generally viewed by the public as ludicrous, absurd and bordering on stupidity. As days progress, one seems to be lying and the other made a scapegoat. All in all both of them somehow sadly appear to be laughably tripping over themselves.
But the public is still greatly displeased and the people want to know one thing. They truly want to know the real culprit behind these recent baseless and unnecessary ISA detentions. Whose heavy hand has been tainted? Who has been the dark power behind these arrests?
The question for this week then is:
Between Abdullah Badawi and Syed Hamid Albar, who do you think is the minister who has abused the ISA and committed a crime against the people of Malaysia?

Seriously Syed Hamid Albar is just a messenger boy taking order from higher up. He is just trying to put up some not too successful “childish” excuses of both the arrests & the releases.
I think the order & ABUSE came direct from a join decision from Abdullah Badawi & Najib. period.
Syed Hamid is just a pawn in the Sleepy Head’s game plan to keep him power. The Sleepy Head is just bad for the nation. For 3 years in power, the Sleepy Head has put the country in the shit!

Badawi and Najib are ultimately responsible. Syed Albar just reads the cues.
Obviously Syed Albar is the messanger who takes order from his boss Abdullah. He is not somebody who is courageous enough to take the initiative on his own. See the way he tried very hard to push the blame to everyone but himself. In other words, he’s a coward. His body language tells it all. It’s either Badawi or Najib who’s behind the puppet master.
Syed Hamid, with his spade of inconsistent statements, once said that the arrest is not ordered by him.
Badawi seems unable to offer anything else apart from saying ISA s a “good law”???
I suppose Samy Vellu might got it right, “it is act of God.” or someone who thinks he or she is god.

I think it’s Albar. Reason being most of the time, Badawi has no direction/ blur.

All laws should be review and changed if necessary every 10 years…then it would applicable to the world that is changing from time to time….

Do you know there’s something Badawi can do to show he is still the taiko lah.
His cabinet is not giving him face so why should Badawi as the prime minister give them face also. He should hang the whole bunch and send them packing home what. They are ungrateful. He don’t make his move he die. He make his move he also die. So the best thing to do is Badawi make his move and let his UMNO ministers die also lah.
As the PM Badawi can dissolve Parliment and call for a snap election. He don’t have to nominate all the UMNO useless and ungrateful b**tards to stand for their consituency so no more ministership for them lah. So easy for Badawi lah. This is his last powerful weapon to protect himself do he know or not?
Maybe the 13 PRU Badawi and BN may win. Maybe they dont and so do Anwar Ibrahim a favour lah.
